Board Games FAQs
Which classic board games can you play with these sets?
The classic board games on this page are chess, checkers, backgammon, Chinese checkers, dice games and cribbage. Combo game sets put three or five of those games in a single set. Standalone backgammon sets and cribbage boards cover those two games on their own for players who want a dedicated board.
What size backgammon board should I get?
Pick a 15-inch backgammon board for easy carrying or an 18-inch board for more room to play. A 15-inch board opens to 20 by 15 inches and closes to 15 by 10 inches. An 18-inch board opens to 22.5 by 18.25 inches and closes to 18.25 by 11.25 inches, large enough to play comfortably while still compact enough to take along.
What comes with a backgammon set?
Each Mainstreet Classics backgammon set here includes playing pieces, two leatherette dice cups, a doubling cube, two sets of dice and playing instructions. The board is covered in black leatherette and folds shut like a case for storage and travel. Inside, a soft felt lining quiets rolling dice, and the weighted pieces are less likely to slide around during play.
What comes with a cribbage board?
Each cribbage board here comes with nine colored pegs that store in a slotted channel on the underside, so they travel with the board. The boards have a full-length, three-track layout. Cards are not part of the set, so keep a standard deck with the board, and if you are new to the game, start with how to play cribbage.
Which of these board games are made of wood?
Wooden board games on this page include the cribbage boards, made of solid pine with a natural finish, and a pine wood option among the 3-in-1 combo sets. The backgammon sets and the other combo sets have a leatherette finish instead. Most of the tabletop games, including every table hockey game, are built mainly of MDF rather than solid wood.
